Is caused by fleas?

My dog has this scab that is like a thin line and at the very end it tapers to a little bit thicker.

I searched him and found a lot of fleas. Is this scab just caused by the fleas or should I be concerned?

I'm getting some medicine for fleas tomorrow but should I take him to the vet or something or does anybody know what it is?

Scab sounds unrelated. As long as there's no sign of infection, don't worry about it. Maybe it's from a cat scratch?

Glad you're taking care of the fleas. Don't forget to treat the house & yard, too. Treating the animals is only 1/2 the battle in the war against flea infestations.

Your dog may have flea allergy dermititis which is when the dog becomes allergic to flea saliva. This causes the dog to become incredibly itchy when it's bitten by fleas and will scratch and nibble at it's skin. This causes the scab.

It's very important that you keep upto date with flea treatment if this is the case. It may be worth taking the dog to a vet for a check over in case it is something else and then they can advise you on the best way to control it.

you should take your dog to the vet for the flea medicine and the scab. i've never heard of a dog getting scabs from fleas. the scab might be an allergic reaction to something. but if i were you i would deffinately take your dog to the vet.

Unless there are signs of infections I wouldn't worry, fleas don't normally cause big scabs, but itching fleas would leave something like that.Make sure you treat your house his bedding and your yard for fleas too!

It's probably from the fleas. Go give him a flea bath right away--don't wait around until tomorrow. (That's available at the local grocery or pet store for about $9.) You'll need to wash or spray your carpets and sheets and blankets in your house as well.

its prolly just where his nail scartched him when he was digging at the fleas.

just get that flea medicine (frontline plus works best)

he is probobly scratching that he is giving him self soares go to your local vet or even your local chemist and look for FRONTLINE. and ask the chemist or vet for help for how to put it on and so on
