Please help, laptop problems!!!?
I just opened my laptop, which was already turned on, but it didn't start up right away (black screen). I rebooted, & had gotten notified of multiple spyware, which it looked like it cleared. But now I keep getting this annoying error message repeatedly:
dxdiag.exe - application error
the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142).
click on ok to terminate the application
dxdiag has detected that there may have been a problem accessing directsound the last time this program was used. would you like to bypass directsound this time?
I've never had this problem before, & I have no clue what caused this. I can't do ANYTHING w/out that stupid repetitive application error message. I can't even run it in safe mode, all it does is run this Dos multi disk partition thing, blinks a blue screen w/ info for a split second that that i can't read, & then asks me what i wanna do next (safe mode or start normally). I have no clue what to do, please help!!!!!!!!!
NOTE: I CAN'T DO ANYTHING!!!!! It won't even let me into Windows without beeping at me & just has that error message. How can i restore from Dos?
ALSO: i'm on my desktop, i can't use my laptop AT ALL right now.

Restore your system to a time when you didn't encounter any problem. Click Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.
If you go to safe mode, you will still be ask if you want to do a system restore, then click yes.
