Poll/SurveyDo/Did you have a "nit nurse" at school ,,and did you ever have them???

We did and no I didnt - my 9 year old gets them quite a lot - there are some mothers that do not check regularly - just treated her again this week :)

We all had to line up and get our heads examined. Then the nit nurse would come along and check our hair too. Never had any. They like clean hair.

The school nurse at my primary school (which I attended between 1982 and 1988) certainly came around periodically to check us for nits....I never had them, though....I have often thought that maybe my hair wasn't clean enough for them! lol

Yes we did at school, we called her Nitty Nora head explorer.

And Yes i had them briefly, and did everyone know, when you had to take a big brown envelope home to your parents.

Schools in sheffield don't have them anymore.

We had Nitty Nora the bug explorer, never had them, my mom was obsessed with raking the metal comb through our hair every Sunday night to make sure our hair was nit free.

edit. When my sons were young I was paranoid about nits.... not because they had them, but because they never did!!!! I wanted to know what was wrong with them.

We did have a nit nurse, but i never got them, and i would have hated having them, my hair was down to my knees, i would have had loads...Urghh talking about them has made me itch now...
