    Look at Wayne Perkins.

He is a blues/rock session guitarist from Birmingham, Alabama who has played on records for everyone from Joe Cocker to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marley(concrete jungle guitar solo), Joni Mitchell, Rolling Stones, Albert King, Bobby Womack, Glen Frey, Al Green, Lonnie Mack, etc..

www.wayneperkins.com is his website, and he has a myspace music page. Wayne's strength is his ability to play whatever the song needs as it is being recorded. You can listen to excerpts on the music page of his official website and there are a few tunes in full on the myspace music page.

He does a fine job with the blues, but there is so much more he does well. I think Wayne the man is bigger than Blues the genre.

He is not into flashy show-off solos, and he does not try to steal the show with his guitar work....he always and only plays what the song needs, and that is why he is on so many records. He rarely plays out live, but will go to the studio every once in a while.

He is one of the most gifted songwriters I have ever heard.

Source(s): He is a friend and has played on some tracks for me. Most all of my friends are musicians who have a background someway related to the Muscle Shoals session scene.

alright this is gonna be a long response but stick with me...there are umpteen million different blues styles. If you want good southern(delta) blues I'd recommend Robert Johnson, howlin' wolf, john lee hooker, muddy waters, and much more. Memphis blues you're looking at frank stokes Memphis Minnie and bobby sowell. then there is blues rock(my preference) Stevie ray Vaughan, Robert cray, buddy guy, Eric Clapton. The rolling stones, Jimi Hendrix experience, and led zeppelin also have some really great tunes centered around blues. Have fun and enjoy

i feel dumb for doing this but i forgot the three kings(Freddy, Albert , and B.B.). May the lord have mercy on me. :)

I did not detect all the ones info approximately MMMMMMel. He has had a fine profession and I spotted he's nonetheless appearing, normally together with his daughter. I continually favored to play I Ain't Never in bands. He wrote such a lot of well ones. Detroit City is undoubtedly a conventional.
