How do i know if my periods have stopped???..?
I am 20 years old, 5 foot 5 and weigh 111-112lbs and i am also on the conctreceptive pill.
I should feel fit and healthy and be bouncing off the walls at my age right? Well, things haven't been good for 6 months to a year now. I am constant;ly feeling tired, exhausted and weak and sometimes can't even lift myself up and get up the stairs. I also get really dizzy and light headed when i stand up I'm in bed early every night and have bad stomach probs (suffering from IBS).
Now, i've been to the doctor around 3months ago and ruled out anemia, thyroid, diabetes and any liver problems with blood tests.
I lost around 8lbs about 5 months ago in a rather short period of time and became the weight i am now.
I've been questioningif it is because i am a little underweight and not eating enough for what i'm doing (but i do eat aroung 1500-1700cals a day). The only other way i would be able to tell is if my periods had stopped, but how do i know when i'm on the pill and don't have real periods?

Well, first if you aren't sure you are eating enough, add in more "energy" foods that are healthy and also get a bit more sleep and see if this helps. Good foods are fresh fruits and veggies, grains, pastas, dairy products (in moderate portions), and snacks like pretzels or yogurt. Also exercise a bit each day doing an activity you enjoy and this will boost your energy a bit.
Regarding periods, birth control usually causes a light period once a month (or once every three months for some) when you stop taking the active hormones. This replaces your "natural" periods. I don't think it's related to weight loss or gain. Ask the doctor if you're unsure though.

The thyroid gland is situated at the front of the throat, below the Adam’s apple. It comprises two lobes that lie on either side of the windpipe, joined in front by an isthmus. The thyroid gland secretes hormones to regulate many metabolic processes, including growth and energy expenditure. Hypothyroidism means the thyroid gland is underactive and fails to secrete enough hormones into the bloodstream. This causes the person’s metabolism to slow down.

imm well i now i am boy but you an stop taking your pill and see if your periods come on. i would ask to speek to your octor on the phone saves you going to the doctors then. and he should say yes its okay for you to stop taking it and then when you want to go back on the pill go to him and explain the problem.
you may want to have more blood tests done. i personallythink you are diabetic even thow they have ruled it out it can still the case.
