The centromere is a region, often found in the middle of the chromosome, involved in cell division and the control of gene expression. The centromere is, together with telomeres and origins of replication, one of the essential parts of any eukaryotic chromosome. The centromere usually contains specific types of DNA sequences which are in higher eukaryotes typically tandem repetitive sequences, often called "satellite DNA". These sequences bind specific proteins called "cen"-Proteins

Ok so lets start out from the smallest unit which is a nucleotide. The a long chain of nucleotides forms a molecule of DNA (Contains A, T, C, and G). The DNA is then found within the nucleus in a condensed state because otherwise it would be too big to hold. The DNA is in a condensed form and forms a chromosome. Each replicating chromosome consists of two sister chromatids. On these chromosomes, segments of DNA which code for a certain protein are called genes. The genome finally is the accumulation of all the genes and DNA within a person, consisting of 46 chromosomes. Hope this helps

no, centromeres are where two chromosomes connect and are a structurally functional part of DNA. The end of chromosomes are the telomeres and are also structuraly functionaly related to aging.
Genes are found in the arms of the chromosomes, between the centromeres and telomeres.

no, they are not. Centromere is the middle point where 2 chromosome come together during meiosis
here is a pic
