How do i disable the function of deleting browsing history?
I dont want to set up parental control, i just want to see what my son has been on. to see if he has been lying to me. I want for him to go on a bad site and then check the history later and call him into the room and ask him what has he been doing. Blocking these sites wont allow me to catch him if he cant go on it right? The thing is I want to catch him to make sure hes not lying to me. Please just give me a way to disable the function of deleting browsing history and cookies. I have windows vista and an hp pavillion dv2000 computer. Please Help.

Whatever you do [ short of installing key-logging software ] you can't stop him deleting history. It's very sad, you seem to want to 'tempt' him to visit adult sites and then humiliate him ? Won't do a lot for father/son relationship. Rather talk to him openly about your concerns and LISTEN to him [ something many parents can't seem to do ? ].

This works in XP but it should (theoretically) work in Vista as well. BUT.. it's only tested for IE.
1.
Open Registry Editor: Click Start | Click Run | Type regedit | Press Enter
2.
Navigate to the following key (if it doesn’t exist, create it): HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel
3.
To lock the “Clear History” button, you’ll have to modify the DWORD value called “History” (without quotes). If the value “History” does not already exist, right click in the right section of the window and select New, DWORD Value. Name it “History”.
4.
Now that the value “History” is ready, double click on it to change its value data from 0 to 1. Click OK. Immediately, the “Clear History” button in Internet Explorer should be disabled (it turns gray). If Internet Explorer is already open, you might need to restart it to see the changes.
If you’d like to disable the whole General tab (in Internet Options) which contains other functions such as deleting cookies and temporary internet files, follow the same previous steps. The only different thing is that you’ll need to modify/create the value called “GeneralTab” instead of “History”.
Another thing you can do is turn on logging in your router. Most routers allow this but check your manual to make sure. This is the best way (short of getting a key logger) to track traffic.
Another interesting thing... even if he clears the history , he may not be clearing the cache. If that's the case, you could be able to see some idea of what he's into by looking at the cached images from the browser. Just a thought.
I agree with the guy above. Open communication is far better than catching him in the act. You'll lose a lot of trust doing it that way...

If he's acquainted with what he's doing, he can delete it himself no remember what settings you provide him, if he's acquainted with a thank you to cover his tracks, often in the information superhighway Explorer ideas there's a drop all the way down to coach what share days of heritage you desire to maintain on the device, despite if it truly is desperate to 0, it is going to delete in the lifeless of night of daily.
