A friend of my 11 yr old set up an email acct for her, but refuses to tell her the password or security answer

As a parent, I want this account to be deleted since it has been compromised by someone else. I'm having a very difficult time deleting it...or even changing the password because I don't have the original password and the girl is saying she "forgot" all the security info. This was created 4 days ago. I can't find any numbers to call "google" and can't figure out how to e-mail them either.

Can anyone help me figure this one out?

This girl has also set up a myspace account in my daughters name, which I can't delete because the confirmation e-mail gets sent to the e-mail account that I can't access. I feel like a dog chasing his tail...round and round and getting no where.

Please help!!

For the MySpace issue, you may want to contact them directly using the email address parentcare@myspace.com

Assuming the email account was created on GMail, and according to Gmail's terms of service, children under the age of 13 may not have a Gmail address. You may want to try contacting Google at the following address. gmail-support@google.com

They aren't just going to cancel an account you can't prove that you had access to. Just leave it alone. Not like any personal data is being released just because they exist on some servers.

Is it possible to tell your daughter not to use that email address anymore. If it is inactive for a period of 3 months, it will be cancelled automatically.

Ignore it all and move on, allowing your daughter to create her own account details. All this free online stuff isn't as important as you might think.

tell the girls parents, then they should if responsible make them tell them the details (even if need to punish daughter to do it)
