Is there a statute of limitations on a court case that was won in the State of KY?
I won a court case in 1998 against a drunk driver and was awarded $162,000 and never got the money.
I waited so long because he was in jail and I just found out that he is out.

Likely, and it's typically ten years from the date of entry of judgment, unless you renew it by filing with the Court before the expiration of the SOL.
This is not legal advice. I am not an attorney in your state. If you have any questions whatsoever about this situation, you should consult an attorney for advice.

That's been 10 years!!! Why have you waited 10 years to question this? I'm not sure about the Statue of Limitations, but for heaven sake, get this into the court system. They can garnish wages, take taxes, force his/her insurance company to pay.

i beleive that statute has to do the amount of time the prosecution has to file charges.
in your case there is no time limit.you are still owed the money but he/she probably can't pay it so you won't get it unless they come into some money then you'll probably have to go back to court to enforce the judgement.

That was probably a symbolic award.... many people never have to make restitution.
Surley you had a lawyer what did he/she say?
Get in touch and ask afterall you have rights too. Did that person have to serve jail time?
