Pope acknowledges the 'shame'?

Do you think the Pope's apology is good enough ?

"Indeed I am deeply sorry for the pain and suffering the victims have endured and I assure them that as their pastor, I too share in their suffering. "These misdeeds, which constitute so grave a betrayal of trust, deserve unequivocal condemnation. They have caused great pain and have damaged the Church's witness."

I am from Ireland, the Popes cess pit for peadophiles and conspirators. There was a recent case in Ireland where the priest Fr Fortune (whom my father went on a school trip to Rome with) was found to have abused over 200 young boys between 11 and 19.

The real twist to this story is the fact that he was caught molesting a boy in his seminary BEFORE he was ordained. He was reported to the bishop who then hushed it up and moved him to another parish. Over his 40 year reign of terror he was caught more than 6 times, each time the local bishop moved him on and covered it up.

The order to cover it up fell under the papal decree "Crimen Solicitanis" This document was drawn up by the current pope while he was a cardinal. It told all catholics that if a Peadophile priest was caught hee should be dealt with by the archbishop. Any attempt to approach the police and the person would be excommunicated.

So i dont thing Ratzinger's apology is ANYWHERE near enough.

    He supported peadophilia!

The pope is but a mere man.

His words mean nothing. Why is he even apologizing in the first place when those priests that committed the crime should be the ones to give an apology. And if the victims hear the pope's apology, will they forgive the pope or the priests? It doesn't make any sense to me for this pope to say anything that isn't directly addressed to him.

Also, why is it that no catholics see the connection in the prophesy in Daniel 9:27 to the prophesies in Revelation 13

No, the pope has no credible answers to give unless he recants the false doctrines of catholics and teach from the bible and the bible only.

There is no way I would believe that this (catholic) system of worship is sanctified by God when it's based on their "thinking of changing" the commandments of God. Daniel 7:25

Don't listen to me, listen to the word of God (my only source)

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

There are many in the catholic church that are sincere believers in Jesus Christ but they see the pope not as a man but as one that is equal or above Christ (Vicar of Christ: one who acts in place of Christ).

Look in a dictionary under anti-Christ you will see: a false Christ;an opposite of something or someone

And the catholic church opposes the bible truth by their unbiblical false teaching of the commandments which they have changed thus causing many to sin in the name of religion.

I'm talking about the seventh day sabbath of the forth commandment (King James Version) that was changed to the first day of the week by the Roman Catholic Church (Daniel 7:25).

I know many of you who read this will be in disbelief, but I say do the research yourselves,

I only speak the truth and I'll die believing it because I believe what the bible says is true.

    God bless

Not only has the Pope publicly apologized on numerous occasions, but the Cathoilc Church has also paid over 2 billion dollars in damages to those affected, and many of the offenders are now in jail.

Sweeping reforms have also been implemented in every Catholic diocese, in order to try to prevent the same type of problem in the future.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

no i don't. i mean im not trying to judgge him. but it seems to me that he is more concerned about the church witness than the families hurt! he shoud have just left it at 'they have caused great pain.'

    that being said...

im not sure that any apology is ever 'good enough'

    (in this sort of case)

i mean, nothing can ever make that go away. and for the family, im sure they could care less how sorry the pope is.

&& im not sure if he is apologizing because he is truly sorry or if he wants to save the church's tale.

No. He used many complex words to hide the fact that the clergy is not that upset. "Indeed" that makes it seem like he is only agreeing with someone else. He should have simply said "I am terribly sorry for the horrible, tragic things that were put upon innocent people by a member of the Church.

I love the Pope, such a good man, there are so many good priests and a few who sin, all men sin, no one is free of sin and no organized religion can claim to be untainted....God bless everyone.

I'm sure the pope is truly sorry, but what can you do more than apologize? He's adressing and condemning it, that's good enough fo me!

No not even close. I have friends who were removed from their homes by force. They were locked in residential schools and were forbidden to speak their own language.

Many were beaten, sexually and mentally abused by the church. They have nerve calling themselves Christians or men of God.They should all be castrated

Sorry I havent been keeping up on the news lately.

    What was he apologizing for?

It sounds semi-sincere for some reason. But who can know what lies in anyones heart?
