Dell is the worst make of the century. You can learn Windows Secrets if you go to my profile and click the link under "visit my website" it is a new website but has a lot of interesting information in it. Especially for the recovery disks, you won't be able to find that anywhere else on the internet because that's what I was trying to find for 2 years, until I figured it out myself!!!. Oh, and for the recovery disks, since you are buying an HP computer you should definitely read that info, even before you buy.

Oh I forgot the most important part. I had a compaq presario and had a problem with the screen. Hp, instead of repairing the computer, sent me a new one that was and is 2 to 4 times more powerful than the presario plus it has a ton more features. And it was all for free. HP is the Best

I had a Dell laptop, and got terrible, misinformed tech support when I tried to replace an eventually irreplaceable keyboard. I won't get another Dell! I have an HP that I like very much - there was a motherboard problem that HP handled very quickly and efficiently. I am happy!

Definately a HP laptop. I deal with HP laptops everyday cuz we do computers for businesses and government n they buy HP there the best just love the way they look and work

I work as an IT tech in an environment of 5000+ users and we had HP for years. They were awful, the Hard drives died and got errors constantly and there were other hardware faults constantly like the montherboard and CPU.

We went to Dell about a year ago and while there are some issues, they seem really reliable and no where near as problematic as the HP's. We have deployed a lot and have barely had any issues.

wow this is a really common question Dell vs HP. I've answered a similar question like 10 times already.

    As again, i say Dell!!!!!

I've had a HP, and hate every bit of it. It started to have windows problems from the second day (something about language issues). Before it boots into windows it says "hard disc failure is imminent, back up all data. F2 to continue.

Finally, after only a year and a half, it refused to boot, and i smashed it to pieces.

I now use a dell, and its reliable and fantastic.

wat ever just be sure to have at least 2 gigs of ram miniumum and at least,i don't know say 160 gig hard drive if you want to have some programmes stored, and i say some programmes stored...if you want to have a bit more stored then store it on an external hard drive...wat i'm saying is try to keep your computers hard drive empty as possible and use an external hard drive for all your programmes...that way it won,t slow down as much over time.

Well, I have Dell right now and I can say that it is more recommended since it provides better performance and better warranty.
