my missing tortoise..?
im the one who posted about a missing baby herman
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Amx8q...
im finally home and the box is just as i left it except that hes not in it!!
i feel terrible!!
we have a really big yard with loads of plants, i searched in all his fav spots to hide and more and still no sign!
he couldnt have been stolen b/c there we have a huge fence that was locked and no 1 can get in and when i got my herman i covered the bottom holes so that he wouldnt escape to neighbors houses,,
and i put his box in a shopping cart we own (dont ask me y we have it) and now that i checked the box it is possible that he escaped but is it possible that he fell from the box and landed safely??
i cant even bear to think that a bird or antyhign took it, i made sure to hide it from them..
i just wanted him to get some sun bc my stupied uvb light stopped working that past couple of days!!
is der hope to find him?did i fail him?

keep looking...more than likely if there is no way for him to escape he is still in your yard and he may have dug himself a hole...so look for strange holes in the yard.
Put up fliers you would be surprised at how many pets find their way home because the owner put out fliers.
Unless you left him out overnight i doubt that a raccoon got him...they usually come out at night.
i have seen box turtles climb metal fences so if you had him in a grocery cart...he could have climbed out....just don't give up hope and make sure you walk your fence line and check for holes....remember tortoises are diggers...and sometimes will go under a fence, put up fliers and if you have pics of him post them on the flyer.
If you can afford it put up a reward...25 or 50 dollars would be plenty....make sure to mention on your flier that its a family pet and you miss him very much.

he will probably show up, they probably can't walk too fast. check all the streets near you, and put up flyers. maybe contact an expert on your type of pet to help.

don't give up hope. keep searching and talk to all your neighbors about it. if they see him to contact you. put up flyers. maybe put out some food around the house. keep searching and don't give up hope!
