A good pregnancy multivitamin will have your needed daily dose of folic acid, usually 800 mcg.

Most prenatal vitamins have the recommended dosage. However, if you are/were a smoker, it is recommended that you take more b/c smoking depletes folic acid. If you are worried that you are not getting enough, you can take an extra folic acid pill with the prenatal. You can't get TOO much, your body will just use what it needs and it won't hurt you.

I'm not really sure. I was given folic acid by my Dr and thats 400mcg so I'm guessing thats enough. I know in some ante natal vitamin complexes there's sometimes twice that amount. I'm sure little folic acid is better than none!
Hope this helps!
