A boxer's reach?

When a boxer's reach is described as being, say, 80 inches, from where to where is this measured?

It is from fingertip to fingertip like Chris stated.

Like the second person stated it is not always significant in fights and unless there is a huge reach advantage like something around 8 inches then I would jsut ignore it.

For example a Boxer whos is very broad with a wide Chest and Back may be seen to have longer arms because the tape has too be streched across his body and the body will account for more of the "Reach" measurement than that of a taller lean fighter.

Chris is correct and that does not always have much meaning in a fight, since you don't swing like a windmill.

A real meaningful measurement would be from the fist extended directly in front of you to your chin.

Fingertip to fingertip with both arms fully extended (so that there is a 180 degree line).

Chris is correct with his answer.
