What the hell kind of message is this sending? Soo confused.?
I was at the gas station and got out of my car to go pay inside. I saw a woman directly behind me about 4 feet and when I opened the door, I held it open for her. She then kinda slows, and glares at me through her bigg *** dark sunglasses. She said something under her breath like "no thanks" or "it's ok" something like that..and then stalled to look through and pick up some news papers right outside the door. I was standing thier like an idiot and then just walked inside. She came in about 30 seconds later....
I feel like I was just snubbed or something haha. I mean what the hell? I've never had a woman, reject a door opening before.

I have run into this phenomenon before. Often it is some ultra-feminist who doesn't understand the difference between someone being polite and some thinking a woman is to meek/weak to open a door for herself. I will hold a door for anyone, male or female, and if someone takes it the wrong way-that is their problem, not mine.

Maybe she wanted to check you out . No, she was just being mean maybe she didn't like your look. But don't let it stop you from being you. I would have appreciated it. Many times men will just let the door close in in front of me and I think if I had the look that they liked would they have held the door for me."I'm OK You're OK"

Wow. That's really rude. But please don't give up your great manners! I can't tell you how many times guys have practically run me over to jump into the elevator first, or let a door go on me even though they know darn well that I'm right behind them. It's nice to know there's still a few good men out there!

I agree with the 1st answer, maybe the was thinking you wanted to check her out, or possibly she was is having a bad day...
Give people a break. I think if everybody gave everyone a break, it would be a lot easier to live. I give people breaks, less stress on me and I'm sure less stress on people I give breaks too...

Could be she thought you are a freak. Chivalry is indeed a good gesture but frankly, if the person looks questionable, I wouldn't want it. Maybe you were dressed wrong, you hadn't shaved, hadn't taken a shower, you eyeball her, etc.
No offense, just telling it as it is.

Don't let her reaction stop you doing the same to others in the future. She's the one with weirdo issues not you. Let's not let decency die.
Maybe she was a celebrity or prison escapee, lol.

She is the one with the problem: keep up the good work.
So you would have been OK with her paying before you? What a gentleman.
