What can you say about the Church sermonizing about the reproductive Bill in churches?

I think the church is a place of worship and the church should stop preaching about going to hell if people used condoms and contraceptives while a mass is in session.

A Church is not only a place of worship but a place to learn the Word of God..

I understand the concept about the separation of Church and state.. The government can say whatever they want with no interference by the Church while the Church can also do that as well with no interference from the other.. The Church is just performing its duty.. If we just go there to worship and then not learn the Word of God then we're not following doctrine and just doing whatever we want.. We have to base it all in the Bible...

I'd say they're acting like they have always acted before. The Catholic Church is very dogmatic, and they won't be changing anytime soon. So, I will not be surprised if the Catholic Church continues to lose members. Heck, they are even having problems now recruiting young men into priesthood.

Just a thought: Have you ever noticed how loud they get when talking against reproductive health, contraception, abortion, etc. yet you don't hear them speaking out against women and children being abused? For a change, they should speak out against sexual abuse of children (especially by the clergy), or wife battering, or hunger, or discrimination...

I agree with you. Instead of preaching about the passage of the reproductive bill, they should spread God's words on raising a family, morality, accountability, values, etc. to counteract the rising crime rates, corruption in government, poverty , abortions, etc. They should act as the conscience of the government through service to the people, not as the voice of the people when they are speaking of the stand of the church. Their stand on this issue does not reflect the voice of the people who are suffering. I think they have abandoned their duty of spreading the word of God.

Your reproductive organs, condoms, and contraceptives is CHURCH business. Regardless of whether it is passed around in government! If you're Catholic, then you might try paying attention to your religion instead of making idiot comments like these.

that's a total abuse of their power.

they should not intervene with government policies.

they should just preach about religious matters and not talk about national concerns already being handled by the government.

besides, the reproductive health bill is a positive thing.

the country's population is increasing at a very high rate.

it needs to be solved now so we could work on other stuff that would help alleviate poverty in the country.

it is the duty of the church to keep reminding the faithful of our moral obligations. the pulpit is the place for that, whether we accept the teachings of the church is another matter but we should at least listen.

Either believe the doctrine or get out of the Church. We worship God in obeying his edicts, not just in prayer.

i think it is just good for the church to tackle about the issue...it is just to remind us that we are human and it is desirable for as to act in a humane way....the church will help the people to realize what they are going to miss if they are to stand in a pro choice movement!..besides it is the duty of the church to stand by as our "MOTHER"

and they are just obeying, respecting, patronizing and preaching the good will of God for us!

priests have been ordered by bishops to keep telling people the reproductive bill is evil. its up to the people if they want the bill to pass. if they dont want it they should join rallies.
