Good luck to your friend, make sure he gets an attorney which understands and SUPPORTS men's rights. What he pays now for an attorney will last a lifetime in child custody! Good luck to your friend.

A divorce Judge will award custody to Mom unless ruled unfit by child and/or drug/mental abuse charges with child support. Unless Dad has been declared an endangerment to the kids, he will get your state mandated visitation rights. This is if the custody is left up to the courts. Of course anything can be arranged outside the courts but must be ruled fair to all by the Judge. If the kids are old enough, Dad can petition the Judge to let the kids decide for themselves who they want to live with which will be taken under strong consideration by the Judge barring too much of a contest by either mom or dad. Now befor the divorce actually takes place in court, dad can ask the court for temporary visitation rights til the custody hearing take place,so hes not out of the kids life. Divorce is never easy on anyone involved, especially in a contested divorce, but either spouse must learn how to compromise with the other side for the sake of the children
