I'm sure American theater probably doesn't hold a candle to British theatre, but my parents took me to NYC when I was very young to see The Sound of Music on Broadway with Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel. For a young child that was pure magic and an unforgettable experience.

When I finally saw Gone With The Wind at the age of 35 and when Clark Gable first came on the screen. I was amazed at how handsome he was and also by the beautiful color of the screen. Because it was made in 1939 and I was seeing it 35 years later.

"True magic in the theater" ? you've got to be kidding, huh! True magic is a seniors social security check meeting their bills, food and rent, not the "Magic" of a theater jaunt, that's pure entertainment.
