What is the different between cherry blossom and cherry tree?

It's always confused me between the cherry tree that produces fruits and the type of tree that flower and we call it cherry blossom. Or are they the same tree?

There are a number of horticultural varieties of trees that are essentially ornamental in that they produce lots of flowers but no edible fruit. There are flowering crab apples, flowering pears, flowering cherries, flowering plums, etc.

The fruit producing varieties also produce blossoms but not as prolifically as the flowering varieties!

No theyre not the same tree. A cherry blossom tree has flowers on it, and im pretty sure they come from Japan but i think they also have some in Washington DC. A cherry tree on the other hand grows cherries. Im pretty sure that they are two completely different trees. Hope i helped anwsering your question! :)
