Okay well I've lived in Texas my whole life and have never had to worry about that but maybe you out runnin' down Armadillos so to each his own, but yeah they will bite if they feel trapped or if you hurt them as will most living things. Heck I bite for the same reasons. Lol! Hey don't let anyone take you snipe hunting! hahaha

I've lived in Texas for 14 years and all I've known them as is garden pests and road-kill. I guess they might attack and bite if they get cornered, but they are so afraid of humans that they typically run at the first sight of you. Even if you did happen to corner one, and it did bite you, I doubt if would be much more than a scratch because their mouths are so tiny they wouldn't get much flesh. They're herbivores so they're hardly attack animals.

Im also from cali, but I know from catching them in Nevada...They run quicker than humans, they zig-zag alot, and DO bite if cornered or touched. Since they are insectivores, they have a neat little row of sharp teeth. I'd advise grabbing w/ both hands on the sides of its shell.

No they don't and my source is personal experience chasing and catching a few.

yes but they have have very small teeth and arent agressive. they are more scared of u than u are of them.
