the FDIC's 90 troubled banks list? Do you feel patronized that the general public does not have access to this???

    It's not released because the FDIC does not want to cause panic and the immediate closure of some of those banks. It's scary for the general public, but if you worked for or owned one of those banks, you wouldn't want it released.
