why does the parking brake light go on when i use the brake? the light doesn't come on when it should.?

Open the hook and look for the level of brake fluid. I believe you r brake fluid are low and need to add more.

Modern day brake warning systems sometimes tie several problems into one light. Some Parking or Brake Warning Lights will illuminate when the parking brake is on, when there is a pressure differential problem between front and rear systems, or when the brake pads have worn down to the limits and a contact is grounded at the pad. It sounds like you brake pads are in need of replacement.
