Is it wierd that a baby thats 6 months 3 weeks isnt?
rolling over or sitting up. He does reach from side to side but just lays flat on his back. He's a relative of mine and I'm wondering if this is normal, it seems a little late.

My son didnt really sit up unsupported untill after he could crawl so that alone isnt a concern. However I would be more concerned about the rolling over this usually happens around 4 months. Make sure they try and encorage him by placing interesting objects to the side, give him lots of tummy time and use an activity gym that will be fun for him while getting a work out. He is probably just not stong enough yet.

my baby is 6 1/2 month on friday this week he cant sit up i do spend time each day about an hour with pillows putting him in a tripod position. i was worried about how he was not rolling over at 5/6 months so what i did was me and my partner lay either side of him on the bed i shouted him so he looks then tries to turn then i let him grab my finger then gently pull him onto his belly again we did this daily for 1 week then he did it on his self dont do it on the bed now put him on his playmat and he flips over really quick i know you prob think oh my god on the bed but he found it easier as it was soft and when he tried on the floor he kept getting his arm stuck we never did it unless we were both there . but it really worked know god help me i can put him on his mat and within 5 secs he on his belly but also babies develop at diff rates my sisters kid was 1 before she sat up where my other sisters kid was 5 months it just varies but i have found spending time learning them helps with ther development

not rolling over is a bit odd...
my baby is almost 7 mos and cant sit up byherself yet...and she is very smart for her age......
he should be able to roll over from front to back , back to front...even be gettign around...not necesarily crawling but scooting.....
it is a little late....usually babies who are late the parent dont play with them and interact and help them ...... children need to be taught how to do things or they will never learn.....

This is normal babies develop at differnt times. Just have patience with the little one. If you have more concerns just go to www.babycenter.com and look it up.

A baby at my church just started walking at 20 months. All babies go at their own pace.

It's more important to notice if he is making eye contact, smiling, babbling, sort of interacting with people around him. If not, I'd be concerned.
