Alcohol has less energy (but higher octane value) than gasoline. So it will put out less HP. Alcohol is also more corrosive than gasoline. But because most engines are not alcohol safe, it will rust out the tank and the engine.

As for diesel, diesel have pretty low octane rating because it needs to be ignited by compression. But because alcohol has such high octane value, the diesel engine will probably not run at all.
