This way works with all browsers. Go to the page you want an icon for. Drag the little icon that is to the left of the URL on the navigation bar to the desktop. You may have to make the window smaller to see the desktop.

I am not sure yahoo offers that feature but you might be able to send an internet icon to your desktop by opening the page you want, selecting File, Send, and then Send to Desktop. That will send a link to your desktop of the page you are viewing. It might not open as My Yahoo if you are not signed in however.

Right click on the link ans choose save as . Then cut and paste it in your desktop
