The previous poster is correct in that it means 32bits in most cases.
32 is common because computers computers are based on binary. You might also see memory in 32MB, although it usually starts at 64MB for most the older systems I have built.
Newer computers are headed toward 64bit computer.
You will probably see lots of numbers in computers that are multiples of 2 to a power.
32, 64, 128, 256, 1024 (or simply 1 with higher unit), etc
