Wash your hair with Dawn dish detergent and baking soda. It will strip the color right out.

I have had this same problem. I died mine black and looked like morticia. I washed my hair everyday with a clarifying shampoo (I used nutregena) but i made sure i kept it properly conditioned by using intensive conditioners afterwards.

To be honest there is not much more you can do (the sun may help lighten it a little). Mine took about 4 weeks to fade to a degree where i felt i could 'live with it'. You just need to be patient.

Don't do anything harsh like strippers or lighteners, lemon juice or be tempted to swim to get rid of the colour..this is just bad advice. It WILL fade and its not worth ruining your hair for..after all it will take a lot longer to grow back hair you have had to get cut off because you have ruined it than it will waiting for a colour to fade...

Yeah, use harsher shampoos that aren't for color treated hair or rough hair, don't buy shampoo that is for conditioning, or anything special. Get shampoo that says right on there for normal hair. Still use a normal conditioner as well. Use hot water vs. warm. Go out in the sun more often. Blow dry your hair. This may be harsh on your hair to let you know, it may make it less soft, but it'll fade quicker.

Go to the salon and ask for a Malibu treatment. This is the only thing that worked for me, and I was in the same situation with a dark brown color that was just too dark.

best thing to do is buy Color Oops at your local walgreens or rite-aid. It is a rinse that will COMPLETELY take your color out and leaves your hair in great condition. I used this after dying my hair red that looked awful. It returned my hair to blonde and 2 weeks later I went to the salon and had it dyed brown w/ blonde highlights

You might want doing one of the Hot Oil treatments but instead of only leaving it in for a minute leave it in ten minutes. Then make a paste with Baking Soda comb that through your hair leave it on for a few minutes. Then do the Hot Oil thing again for ten minutes.

    Hope it helps.
