Can a heating pad or an ice bag make lower pain worse?

Or is it always good to use it?

    CFC good-- i would also recommend a gel called " bio freeze" it works miracles!!

    any doctor could give you info on it. wonderful, just a WONDERFUL PRODUCT. my moms spine is also deteriorating, she has the worst pains, and truthfully, her pain never goes away. even Novocaine don't work no more. i feel so bad for whoever has this condition.

    Hi, I have AS, a deteriorating spine disease, and I use both. My doctor tells me to try the heat 15 minutes then try the icebag for 15 min. intervals. If you find the heat feels better then just use the heat, sometimes I do the same, it depends what is causing the pain. If it is a bone that swells then most likely ice. IF it is the muscle, heat. Or call your physician. You also didn't give enough info.
