How do I align my garage door sensors?

Take a soup can and place it under one sensor.

Go the second sensor and set the soup can under it. Now both are at the same height.

Slowly turn each sensor until the alignment light (usually green) lights up on the sensor.

Point the lenses at each other.

You may want to use a carpenter's level, or an inexpensive laser level, but neither are absolutely necessary. A good eye should do the trick.
