Where did you go for your honeymoon? And why?

I'm looking for somewhere fun.

He's afraid of the water so it doesn't necessarily have to be a bungalow surrounded by water.

Negril, Jamaica because we got married there. The holiday was 2 weeks long we got married on the third day. It was brilliant and we came all the way from England so it was quite a long flight.

We did a short trip in the south east of the US. Length wise, time wise was three weeks. Cost wise, moderate. Nights were spent at country inns, bed and breakfasts, and log cabins.

Some sand, some mountains, NO cities, some out've the way towns, some gem stone mining in NC, several botanical gardens, we even managed to get in two train rides. Several picnics and spur of the moment outings along with a few days of sitting in rockers and just talking with who ever was around.

Places we had been before, but not as a couple. We each selected our top three sites and we planned the trip around those,,, connect the dots so to speak.

It was a blast and the folks we stayed with treated us very, very well. One place we stayed in NC, the owners of a cabin we rented took care of our food for the time we were there. An older couple in VA treated us to dinner one night. The owners of a country inn treated us to two nights free lodging with an awesome room in one of the inn's towers.

We went to a Sandal's Resort in Jamaica. Because it was slow, it was all inclusive, we ate at 5 star restaurants every night. there were things to do both in the water (we both love the water) and on the land. They had a lot of things to do during the week that didn't involve swimming or the ocean. oh and it was relatively affordable for the two of us.

We went to Maui. There are plenty of things to do there that don't involve water. BTW my husband was scared to death of the water but we went snorkeling & he ended up loving it. I couldn't get him back to shore. We also went on a road trip into the jungle which was amazing. There are all sorts of hiking trips, waterfalls, volcanoes, arboretums, amazing opportunities for photography.

You could always go to Spain or Italy. My parents are from Argentina & I am dying to go back. Great food, lots of nightlife, rich in history.

We went on a four island tour of Hawaii for two weeks. Its an expensive and a once in a lifetime trip, but totally worth every penny we spent. We had the time of our lives!

I was a week away from Army boot camp when I said I do to my wonderful wife. Didn't have any dough, and didn't have much time. Her father rented us a cabin in the mountains for the week and we had a great time. The cabin was just far enough away from a little town where we could go for dinner etc. and otherwise not be disturbed. (wink wink). Great way to cement our marriage.

You could pick a national park to go to; or go to Europe.

P.S. We went on a cruise and loved it, but I guess this is not an option when one is afraid of water.

I went to Disneyworld & the Epcott center in Florida. We went there because Disney has really nice themed resort's, we stayed at Coronado Resort. Plus we enjoy them parks.

Also, mostly any hotel or resort will give you a free upgrade if you tell them you are on your honeymoon!! They upgraded our room to a honeymoon suite it was really nice!!

i think i'm going to have to go to europe somewhere. maybe spain? or maybe just a whole eurotrip and see it all...

hawaii would be nice. i just spend 3 weeks with my girlfriend there and it'd be a nice honeymoon place (just not for us since we've already been here together).
