Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Are you smart enough to use Yahoo answers?

I am both an asker, and an answerer. I see the same questions week after week, after week, and have noticed that the voters choose the best answer most of the time while the asker ignores their own questions.

So...to me, this would mean that if I am answering the same question for the 40th time, that the asker is not smart enough to use Yahoo Answers. Like wise, if I see a question is being voted on (excluding highly technical questions, where a real answer might be required), once again, the asker is not smart enough to be using Yahoo answers.

Before you snarky simpletons who have acquired an email account think your snotty remarks are going to be chosen...I vote on best answer, and will enjoy lowering your best answer percentage

Update:

Mind you, this does not even begin to cover the people who are not smart enough to answer a yahoo answers question ( which would include 95-98% of the people below), as they are accustomed to saying, "I dont know, put it up on ebay"

    I think I am ... I hope so, anyway!

I agree with you about the gazillion questions that are asked over and over and OVER ... "How many points do I need to reach Level 2 on Yahoo Answers?" is a particularly annoying one!

And I agree with you about the questions that are asked and never again dealt with by the asker ... no acknowledgment ... no Best Answer chosen ... no thanks to anyone who answered ... did I waste my time by answering that person's question?

It's unfortunate, but it does seem that quite often a question is asked for no good reason ... or the question asked is not ... a good question!

I don't ask questions often, but when I do, it's because I need information or I sincerely WANT others' opinions. I DO answer a lot ... it's fun for me, and hopefully, others find my answers to be helpful.

I always choose BA when I ask a question. I think that NOT choosing BA is insulting to those who answered, since they DID spend their time answering my question. I let them know that EVERY answer is read and appreciated.

I think that the majority of users on here are only teenagers and I don't know about you but I have found that most teenagers tend to take the short cut whenever possible and doing something much like research (which is expected at school) is not something they are going to do willingly. So you do the the same questions over and over.

I personally do not understand those who do ask a question and then cannot be bothered with giving the courtesy of a best answer, as people have bothered to take time to answer the question, they should be polite and choose an answer.

But then I gave up trying to figure people out years ago as when you try to do so you are usually wrong.

I find researching to find my own answer a simple task but maybe others just don't know how to go about it.

Thank you for saying this. It does seem like people keep asking the same thing over and over (i end up typing the samething in all of them) why cant fat brunettes with glasses, braces and to much make-up ask out that guy they like while there having cell phone problems?

and i do hope im not a "snarky simpleton" and that the great yahoo anwsers gods find me worthy of using this site

obsession is really when someone crosses the line. it isn't good for a guy to be obsessed with you if its to the point where you feel like your personal space has been violated. and by the way it's smart enough not smarter enough lol

Opinions are like rectums, everybody has one and it sounds as though yours comes with an attitude. So, hear is your chance to vote, again.

Maybe it is why they keep asking the same question over and over and over again.
