Can ubuntu, using PC Virtual Machine, run on my laptop?
I have a Vista laptop, my model is the HP Compaq Presario F700 Notebook PC
my processor is this: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-58 1.90GHz
I have 1983 MB of RAM
and a 32-bit resolution
my question is this, do i have enough memory and requirements to download ubuntu on my computer and run it on a PC Virtual Machine?
my laptop is also compatible with another gig of ram, to have a total o 3 gigs, so is it better to install this extra gig, and then download ubuntu?
i have to pay money for the extra gig, so i wanna know if its okay to run ubuntu on the PC Virtual Machine with just 2 gigs, and a vista OS. Plus including all of my requirements. Because its my virst time doing something like this, and i really dont wanna mess up my computer.
so please please somebody tell me if my laptop requirements play out with doing what i plan to. THANK YOU EVERYBODY WHO PROVIDES A GOOD ANSWER. i'm desperate, so please?
oh! also, can i use it and still have my programs running okay without lagging or anything?..

I see no problems here at all, the specs. on you Laptop are more than adequate. I would recommend VirtualBox http://www.virtualbox.org/ as your virtual machine I use it all the time for testing variuos Linux distros.

This is getting out of hand let us put a stop to this now, we shall have to agree to disagree. Can we please just try to hold on to the cohesion within YA and the Linux community.

Yep it will work, I have used VBox with just 1GB of RAM. All Ubuntu needs is around 380 MB virtual memory and a virtual hard drive of 4 GB that you will allocate using Virtual box settings.
Ubuntu is the easiest if you are new to GNU/Linux, also not resource hungry like others.
