Hank Williams Sr-
His music has intrigued me since the first time I heard him sing. I got my first Hank Sr cd when I was 17 (i am now 26). That voice is so real and raw and genuine. His songs express emotions and you can feel his pain. He lived a hard life, born with spina bifida he suffered chronic back pain all his life which led him to drinking. He was kicked out of the Grand Ole Opry in hopes that he would sober up and return, but before that could happen he died in the back of his cadillac. His music and life go hand in hand. And he is one of the greatest country singers of all time. He is respected by many, even a lot of people i've met who don't like country music like Hank Williams.
God rest his soul

I like the greats Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn - but my favorite newer artist is Gary Allen. I think he will one day be one of the greats and a very influential artist for younger singers.

If I can only name one, it would be Waylon Jennings. I love the man;s voice, his spirit, his ability to produce, write and arrange music. He did so much for musician's right's to get a fair contract in the industry, he somehow managed to work through is personal demons and still give his fans what they wanted without it really ever affecting his music. His friends and he were loyal to eachother in good times and bad who jumped to each other's aide when they needed it. His wife stood by him and supported him through all the good times and bad times and that says something about a person.
I just admire him and his music. He had it all.

I really like Toby Keith and Gretchen Wilson.
Their music is simple enough to understand, and has some great funny tunes, but at the same time they have some whoppers too.

Toby Keith. Because he not only has an incredible voice, but he does things with his life that mean something. He does good everywhere he goes and completely supports the US military. He is a real All-American
