Is it time for Zab Judah to hang the gloves up....

The fight tonight proved that.....He just dont have it against the top welterweights anymore.

Oh man! I hope to heck he does!!!! He is such a punk!!!!

    People's champion...my butt!

I'm actually going to post a question on Answers to see if there's anyone who knows either who promotes Joshua Clottey or just simply his e-mail address....I NEED TO TELL HIM in response to what he said "Nobody likes me"....that that's UNTRUE UNTRUE UNTRUE!!!!! I have watched him throughout the years, and I love him!!!

Can't say the same about Zab....there's no love there... never will be, never has been! HE IS A PUNK in every sense of the word!!! grrrrrrr

    Keep going Joshua...FIGHT ON!!!

I had said in another post that I thought Zab's best days were behind him, but he fought a little better tonight than I anticipated he would, but Clottey was just the better fighter. Clottey basically did to Judah what Margarito did to Cotto, walked him down and landed shots here and there early, then started breaking Judah down in the middle rounds. Zab was on his way to being knocked out and I think the cut saved him from losing by TKO. Zab did show some heart when he could've easily wilted earlier in the fight, so I do give him a little credit, but Clottey is for real. I would love to see a Margarito-Clottey 2.

I think Zab is done as a serious contender though.

Nah I dont think its time for him to retire. He was doing OK. Clottey was a little faster than I thought. I predicted Judah to win just because of his speed but I clearly saw that if the fight had of went on Judah would have been KO'd. But retire NO. He still has about 3 or 4 more fights against A+ competition in him. And yes move down to 140 and target the Hitman.

He is still a big draw because people hate him and want to see him get beat. He talks a lot of trash and is unpredictable in fights yet still packs a good punch and enough skills to make a fight interesting.

No he will not win another top fight with a real contender like Joshua Clottey, Miguel Cotto, Paul Williams, Shane Mosely or even Andre Berto but those fights are still entertaining and well worth watching.

I think Judah will be the fighter that tests up and coming fighters. If they can't beat him they aren't ready to move up in competition but if they do they are.

So I think his time on top is well past but I think he still can serve as an exciting opponent for match ups with fighters like Kermit Cintron or Alfonso Gomez. Occasionally he will rack up a couple victories to earn himself a bigger fight but will lose that when he steps up and be back to fighting midcard fighters again. If he plans it out right he can drag his career out for about three more years in my opinion. But as you have said he doesn't have it anymore and should at least hang up the notion of expecting to be the welterweight champion and just concentrate on making enough money to be financially secure and make his exit as soon as he is.

No!!! he fought with alot determination and discipline, the fight was close...the cut was done by a head butt (remeber they wer clinched and he looked at the ref ) but the upper cut opened up more. Judah still in the mix and a threat maybe not to margarito but who knows it boxing! judah six loses mayweather, tszyu, baldomir, spinks, cotto, clottey (not in order) but he lost at least 3 but mayb all 6 if he was focus and determined mayb he be 39- and 3 or 42-0 but he lead himslef into that postion, conclusion shouldnt hang em up he only 30 and can still "bang" plus he a lefty disavantage to alot

He's absorbed alot of punches. Speedsters with lesser bone density are more prone to long term effects from punches. Judah was a good fighter and has alot to be proud of.
