Digestive problems, and going to the bathroom

My brother has been having this problem for quite some time and wanted me to ask what it may be. My brother has switched to a high fiber diet and yet he still has problems going to the bathroom. The problem is that when he goes it is so extremely sticky, and like the consistancy like penut butter mixed with super glue. Could this be a sign of a bad gaul bladder? I told him to see the doctor but, he is too embarassed to go. What can this be, and what would you do in this situation?
