I have had several removed. Usually they use a q-tip dipped in liquid nitrogen. It freezes the wart and kills it. It is a mild burning sensation but goes away quickly. Try to get them all done in one visit to save $.

I had a normal planters wart on the bottom of my foot. I was currently in the process of using liquid wart removal. Then one day, I woke up and found it hard to walk on. My planters wart was infected. Soon, it started to swell. A few days later, it was the size of a quarter and it was about 1/2 an inch swollen. My mom and I began treating it on our own, but that didn't work. It was painful. Every day, my mom would poke a hole in it with a needle, and she would squeeze it until puss would come out. My mom took me to the pediatrician and the doctor put a very large hole in it and squirted the puss out. He also did a culture on it. After he had done work on it, the swelling immediately started to decrease. Warts usually never do this, so don't be frightened. My health was still ok when it was still there, but a little fever started up. Now i'm as good as new. New skin developed around the infected area and the infection can't ever reoccur.

Doctors can freeze them or burn them off. I have had success getting rid of warts using Castor oil on them. Just rub the oil on them several times a day and they disappear over a fairly short time weeks. No pain no scars, no kidding. My son used the oil on a planar wart on his foot, and it went away. I do not know why it works but it does.

My friend had warts on her leg, she went to the doctors and she was scared of the pain too!

All they do is get dry ice on a ear bud thing and put into onto the wart, its pretty much painless and didnt leave a scar :D

The most common method is "freezing" them off with liquid nitrogen. It stings a little.

Of worse concern is the possibility of abnormal cell growth on your cervix. Some of the same virus strains that cause warts also cause abnormal cellular growth on the cervix, which if left untreated can actually turn into cancer.

So, make sure you have an internal exam as well.

I had one done as a kid and they used an electric heating needle, hurt like heck. Had a couple removed in past 10 years and the spray liquid nitrogen which is very cold. They spray it on and if the doctor is good and know when it stop it hardly burns at all. I blisters up almost immediately. Mild pain and healing like a bad burn. Not too bad and better than the old days in the 50s. Ha! Before you were born.

    Hope this helps.

david is right. I have had them frozen (freezing is called burning because you are freeze burning the wart). It will take a while (maybe a month) for them to fall off. It is not instant.
