I got a windows xp sp2 from my friend.I cant install wmp11? It shows that my OS is invalid! Help me....
I borrowed a Windows XP Service pack 2 from my friend. While installing the OS , is showed that the product key which he gave me is in invalid.
Then i searched the net.I got various product key from that one product key worked....
I installed the OS and then I tried to install WMP 11....
It showed that my copy of windows is not validate....
I want to know whether the problem is with the WMP 11 or my OS
Please help me fix the problem if the way i installed the windows was wrong
help me...whether I have to reinstall my windows are any ways to fix that...

This is what happens when you install a pirate OS. Since this copy has been previously installed on another machine it now fails to validate as genuine. You need to buy a copy and use the exact unique key which came with it. Your friend might be interested to know that this illegal use has no cancelled his activation key, making the disk no use even as a recovery disk for his own machine.

You need to validate windows using www.microsoft.com before installing certain softwares like WMP 11. Or use a proper genuine product key.

WMP is fine.
Your OS is fine.
What isn't fine is your product key. You've illegally installed Windows and this is one of the consequences.
Buy a licensed copy and you can install WMP 11.

NO! there is no problem in your os or your wmp11.
actual problem is that your os is not genuien[ means you have not purchased it] first of all you purchase it then install all the softwares, all shall be installed.
