How can I execute a batch file to run when a certain file or program is started?

You can create a batch file that opens the desired program and right after that it triggers the next batch file. then replace te shortcut for the program with the shortcut to the new batch an you can even set the icon to the new shortcut to be the same as the application.
or
you can edit your batch file to open the program before the rest of the options and do the same shortcut as above.
