I got a parking citation for being parked 55 inches from the curb. Should I contest?

I was parked in a cul de sac. It's reasonable to say that I may not have been within 18 inches of the curb due to the difficulty of trying to parallel park between two cars on a curved curb. In the notes, it says my right front wheel was 58 inches from the curb and right rear wheel was 55 inches from the curb. It is absolutely ridiculous to say my car was almost 5 feet from the curb, I was nowhere near that far from away. Since the person who issued the ticket either doesn't know how to measure, or made some kind of mistake, do I have a good chance of contesting the ticket?

Update:

The note says I was 58 inches away, but the note is WRONG. There was NO way I was anywhere near 58 inches away from the curb. 24 inches tops. 58, no!

Update 2:

I did not admit to 24, the max it could have been is 24 if it was that. I didn't have a ruler on had and had to be somewhere so I didn't measure. I'm not saying there was no violation. But there's a problem when the ticket says I was 55 and 58 inches from the curb which was not the case. On those grounds alone, is that enough to contest? Why are people not addressing that?

    I would contest and try to win on technicalities. For example, to prove their case they must produce the device they measured with. Can device measure accurately a distance of 60 inches?? More detailed information on the blog spot below.

    what is hard about parallel parking between two cars next to a curved curb?

    the steps you do to parallel park you can do if there is no curb at all in the middle of a field or parking lot.

    pay the ticket and learn a lesson and move on.

    Ugh, i'm guessing he would not have coverage and you will ought to pay the deductible (or each little thing! in case you have not have been given coverage against uninsured drivers). If he does have coverage, the police will probable get it out of him. And yeah your coverage business enterprise would sue him, yet whilst he would not have the money it is exceptionally meaningless. I have been given hit by an uninsured motive force over 10 years in the past and nonetheless have not been reimbursed by way of fact the different social gathering on no account paid up.

    You admit to 24 inches, a violation. What grounds would you contest it on? Guilty! Pay your fine.

    If u have time go head and fight but if this is sanfransico forget it just pay the ticket u will not win . But go for ur guts u never know some time there is good chance for u to win

    They will have a picture. It will show how far away you were. Can you show the picture is wrong?
