i have a 92 chevy pu when im going down the road i hear a winding sound from the drive shaft but i dont loose power from tranny ,, unirversal wind??? or bearng ,, any help??

Hello BICCA,
The first thing I would do is check my differential fluid. If it is low, the gears will whine. If the universal is going out, it usually makes a chirping noise when excelerating.

Bad universal joints will usually clunk when going from D to R or R to D. This is more noticable the worse they are. Check them and the carrier bearing (if it has one). The shaft could be out of balance which will cause them to wear. Another likely cause for the noise is tires.
