Can you use a Memory Stick PRO Duo or any modern variants in an original Memory Stick format slot?

I am asking because I have an old Clie PEG-NX60/U that would need to use external storage; and purely for storage and playback if that does make some difference in answer.

    All you need is an adaptor which I had when I had a PSP and a Sony VIAO Computer.
