Yahoo and so many "coffee breaks"?

I've asked this before, but still don't get it. I also follow news about Yahoo, and their issues, and happy in some way, I don't own stock.

A "Breather" please explain if you can, why this happens multiple times per day,

Big sigh.

Update:

Thanks so far, and I disagree with # 1. beyond the fact that the SITE is driven and supported by US, it, (Yahoo) is in a precarious situation, and I hope floats to the top of the stew.

I asked because it happens dozens of times a day, and I do not sit here 24/7 wheelchair bound, with little else occupying my time.

I believe its just because of heavy traffic congestion and the server can't always catch up, and the default 'breather' message appears. Did you notice that if you 'go back' refresh and forward, the 'breather' usually goes away? A coffee break is more like system maintenance time, I believe, perhaps cleaning up old and unanswered Q's.

There is a problem when you use some special symbols within an answer. It has been a few days now and it has not been fixed yet. I know it occurs with a percent sign. I am positive of that. Try spelling out any special symbols. You can then go back and edit the answer and change them back to the actual symbol if desired later.

TO TECHNICAL MEMBERS: Using the HTML entity for the special symbol seems to get around the problem. For example % for a %.

NOTE: I have also heard that the error may occur when you reach your answer limit instead of the normal message. There is a 20 answer limit at level 1 and the error starts occuring when you reach that point.

  • obviously, you must have noticed the recent changes made to yahoo answers, such as the new formats.

because of these new formats, glitches have occurred. one of these glitches in the 'breather' notice.

yahoo is working on it, but i understand your frustration
