Does it make you mad when??

a little known artist begins to get shine and becomes popular AFTER you had been supporting the artist forever?

For example: M.I.A.'s "paper planes" is now popular because it's on the Soundtrack for Pineapple Express. I even heard it on Hot 97 and a bar I was at this past weekend. I really don't care but my friend who put me on to M.I.A. is trippin. Does this ever happen to you?

Update:

Sometimes, not because they're getting popular but because people initially overlook them as an artist anyways. Like with MIA, that song has been out for a year, hell Rolling Stone ranked Kala as the #1 album of 2007, but everyone's like "oh that girl who sings the pineapple express song". I don't get that feeling with her, but I understand where those people who are mad are coming from.

I do remember back in September I was always listening to the song Superstar when it first leaked, I even had it on a CD for my party, and people were like "meh". Fast forward to February and everyone was blasting it cause it was getting played on the radio. It was like wtf, I've been playing Lupe for you guys for two years. So it does happen sometimes, but it's just cause fickle fans can be frustrating.

  • I got a couple friends like that who think now that Atmosphere is getting recog. Slug is gonna lose his flow and go mainstream. I don't think so. If they are truely great they will stand the test of time and fame.

nah, i wish the best for everyone. the only downfall is the price of concert tickets and the amount of 13 year old girls at the concerts. i can take it.
