    Slope-intercept form is y = mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

    (2,6), m = 2

    We are give m = 2, so

    y = 2x + b

    We can use the given point to find b.

    6 = 2(2) + b

    2 = b

    Answer: y = 2x+2

    The other problems have the same steps as above.

    slope intercept type: y=mx+b, the place m is the slope and b is the y intercept(the place the line crosses the y axis) so your situation supplies each and every little thing different than b so positioned all that for the time of to locate b: keep in mind, factors are written (x,y). -9= -5(3)+b multiply: -9= -15+b upload 15 to the two facets. you attempt to get b on one factor and what you do to a minimum of one factor you will desire to do to the different: 6=b. now you have b and m, so those are constants to your line. x and y substitute because of the fact the standards substitute. very final equation: y= -5x+6 now, attempt the others: 8= -4(a million)+b 12=b so y= -4x+12 -2=a million/2(4)+b -2=2+b b=-4 so y=a million/2x-4
