The sony vaio is pretty isn't it? I owned the black hard-case one which worked pretty good for almost four years...as far as i know it's still working (it's with someone else now). Then I bought the sleek, silver vaio. Man that was sexy, light and just a joy to behold...however, 6 mths into constant use the pixels on the screen started to appear spotty - like dark pin points scattered throughout, then the letter paints on the some buttons faded away! The key board itself started to slowly deteriorate within a year. Now you would believe I mistreated it? I didn't. That thing had a super carry case and I warned a few who got to use it not to touch the lcd sceen. I remember talking to the sony vaio people and they brushed the problems away by saying all laptops have some bad pixels...so I upgraded to an IBM thinkpad....not so pretty but sturdy and a workhorse, cost me a bit more, but at least I can play my games without it crashing!
