Red Wasp Killer or Deterrent

What is something I can use to kill Red Wasps? I've tried store bought sprays and foam, but they only kill the ones I can see. They are inside the roof on my house, and come out in several different places around the eaves. I am highly allergic to wasp stings, so going after the nest in the attic is out of the question. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi Rick. Since you are allergic to them, I would say spend the money on an exterminator and let him kill them... BECAUSE, it may be necessary for him to do things in the attic to get them that it wouldn't be safe for you to do. But, if you want to do it yourself...

First of all, the wasps are least active in the morning and at dusk. They will all be home at those times of the day.

The real easy way is just to buy several cans of Spectracide Wasp Killer (green can at Lowes) and just locate the entrances by watching the wasps and just hose the holes mercilessly and you will get them. The nest is always close to the hole. OR you can get into the attic. Or, you can spend about $150 bucks and call an exterminator. No need to spend big bucks with Orkin or Terminex. Any local company with a good reputation will have the same knowledge, the same chemical, and the same techniques..

Use wasp and hornet spray......then spray more as it will seep back in there and get the ones that haven't hatched yet.

I have been told to use brake cleaner. I haven't tried it yet my self but I will this weekend. Berryman brand was recommended. I was told that it will kill on contact.
