How about an oven stuffer roaster with red potato, and string beans.warm baked rolls. And it easy.
Get the roaster from store season it inside and out with fresh rosemary, cut up potatoes lay along the sides of roaster season with salt, pepper, sprinkle some more rosemary put alittle butter on roaster and potatoes..Put in oven on 350.until the little button on roaster pops up.While that is cooking just steam your string bean make sure you season them to..
For dessert try chocolate strawberries

If you get the presentation right, the food won't matter much. Pay attention to the details. Set the table with the silverware all arranged the same way. Use napkin rings and placemats if you have 'em. Music playing in the background. Candles of course, and some kind of plant for a centerpiece (doesn't have to be flowers, but ..).
Heat the plates in the oven before serving and chill the salad plates in the freezer.
Dessert is a must and should be decadent.

Make a big pot of rice. If you have the powdered onion soup mix, throw it in with the rice and water before you start cooking it. Set aside when cooked.
In a fry pan, put 1/2 cup of oil with a chopped-up onion and some salt.
Once the onion looks softer, add shrimp, chicken, beef, or any other meat you have around. (or all three!) Also add some frozen veggies, like corn, peas, etc. Add salt and chicken/beef stock.
When cooked, add the rice, mix, fry on medium for 5-10 more minutes, and serve.

Whatever you serve, be sure to make some sort of salad (even just thinly cut tomatoes and/or cucumbers, sprinkled with salt, pepper, olive oil and vinegar)

Go to the store and get some fat steaks, BBQ them. Get some good steak sauce or bbq sauce and go for it. Take some Broccoli, and steam it (or buy the frozen ones you can stick in the microwave).
A little romantic jazz, some candles, a good shower and shave, then put on an apron and nothing else. A little massage for her, and some pampering..... I bet she'll have a good dinner, and you'll have a good night. Bada-Bing!

Are you a good cook? If you want something simple, here is my advice:
Make some homemade pizza - I know it sounds silly, but if you are making it together with your daughter it will be a blast!
You can put all of your favorite toppings on it, maybe you could even make it heart-shaped! If you want it really easy, use a bread machine to bake the dough.
Have a good one!

Lasagne with garlic bread and a salad.
Or a bbq with a nice potato salad and fresh bread.
OR better yet go to www.allrecipes.com to be inspired
Im pretty sure your wife will love whatver it is you make purely because of your lovely intentions behind it :)

Lasagna is pretty easy to make and delicious. You could do that with a nice salad and perhaps buy a box of brownie mix for dessert.

Fish with a pasta and salad.....You could also buy a cake and icecream for dessert.
I think it's nice of you to do this for your family by the way....:)

my favorite is taco salad. it's easy, too.
bagged salad
tomatoes or salsa
shredded cheese
sliced olives
black beans
browned hamburger (you can use diced ham, too)
corn chips, like fritos or doritos
ranch dressing
oooh - now I'm getting hungry...
