I get what you mean... you mean how do you make "today" or "tomorrow" a good day so 20 years down the road you look back at this day or tomorrow and think "wow was i a happy kid" right?? well its simple, live each day as if it were your last and dont waste your life worrying about the negatives =)

The past is past, happy or not. There's no way to maintain something that has already happened. What you should try to do is maintain a happy present. That means doing things for yourself that make you happy and fulfilled today. In doing that, as the days go by, your more recent past will then be happier. But more important, so will your future.
