What happens if you dial #55?

My girl friend accidently dialed #55 from my cell phone, while jokingly messing around (unlimited weekends and all that).

She claimes that they said something about police.

What does happen if you dial #55? (cus I think she's just a retard).

    I don't see #55 listed as a police number anywhere, but *55 from cellular phones should reach the state/highway patrol in Missouri and Oklahoma.

    But in all cases, the result of dialing codes such as these (#55, *55, #77, *77, etc.) will depend upon the programming in your particular area. For example, numbers for reaching highway patrol are #77 in Virginia, *77 (*SP) in West Virginia, *477 (*GSP) in Georgia, *647 (*NVP) in Nevada, and so on.
