what should i do to get my money back, iv'e been scammed on ebay?

I sold a laptop on ebay, and the lady who bought it said she had already paid for it, and i got a letter from 'paypal' saying she had paied the money, and i needed to send the laptop to get the money credited to my account. This all turned out to be a fishing email, and by the time i had relised that I had already sent it!!

Ive had the shipment money refunded, and ebay have sendt be about £8.00 because she deleted her account. But i have no laptop! Is there any way i can get the £150.00 owed for the laptop, or my laptop back?

P.s. The shipment was to nigeria!

You've fallen victim to a classic scam that's been around for years and has been widely discussed all over the Internet -- including here at Yahoo Answers.

You will never get your money back. Hopefully at least you have learned a lesson about clicking on links contained in emails, and about going outside of normal established procedures to pay for or to sell items.

    Better luck next time. Sorry.

Sorry, you've lost both your money and your laptop and there really is nothing you can do.

PayPal won't help you because, as far as they're concerned, there was no transaction.

eBay won't help you because the seller is no longer registered (not that there's anything they could do anyway).

This won't get your money or laptop back, but report it here

    http://fraud.org/internet/intset.htm

    and it might help others.

That was a very hard way for you to learn but when selling anything on eBay, ALWAYS look in your PayPal account to see that the money shows there and that the transaction shows as 'completed' before you even think about sending out an item.

This won't protect you from potential chargebacks (when a buyer says that their card was fraudulently used and that they didn't buy the item) but it will protect you from phishing/spoof email payment notifications.

Never send anything to nigeria - always a scam. With her having no account you most likely can't do anything. If you sent it recorded post it may be trackable, but unlikely it will help unless you have proof and even then not much can be done. You could try contacting the police over it as it is no longer just dealing with ebay. You most likely won't get the money or the laptop back. Sorry, you just have to learn from this.

Sorry to say you can't , you should NEVER send any thing until the money is in your bank or Pay Pal account ( not much help now ) but I get this regular that some one say he has sent the money and sometimes even show a bank slip etc, but until I see the cash in my account then it does not go. You have learnt the hard way.

The police heavily isn't involved and your financial corporation actual won't refund. you're too youthful to have the two an ebay or a paypal account (you will possibly be able to desire to substantiate you're a minimum of 18 on the time you sign up) and have not in spite of everything observed the policies for supplier risk-free practices. no longer something you're able to do. Wait until you're 18 then study the help pages for clean sellers to establish you're no longer caught returned.

Ebay should refund you the money under their insurance which they do promise (terms and conditions apply) Hit ebay for it, and as a word of warning never mind that somebody from Nigeria scammed you ask yourself why would anybody from outside Britain want a 240 volt 3 pin appliance?

That was a big heads up right there...tons of scams to nigeria. You can just file a claim with paypal. Paypal is suppose to protect the buyer and the seller. They are response as well since they are the ones who are suppose to keep fraud from happening. Call up paypal and file a claim.
